Philbrook Art Museum is one of the best Things to do in Tulsa Specially around december when they have their lights on.
Philbrook Art Museum has been around for quite some time as
quite possibly, Tulsa'"s most well-known Art Museum
, Art Gallery, Natural
History Museum, etc. Construction on the mansion was begun in 1926 by the John
Long Company of Kansas City and completed in 1927. Originally called Villa
Philbrook, the home featured 72 rooms on 23 acres (93,000 Square Feet) of grounds. The
expansive grounds contain elaborate gardens inspired by Villa
Lante, an Italian country estate north of Rome designed by Giacomo
Barozzi da Vignola in 1566. For a more complete
history of Philbrook Art Museum check out the links in the right and left colums next to the transcipt description.
